Regulatory Updates: Get More of What Matters. Less of What Doesn’t
Getting more regulatory updates doesn’t necessarily make you better informed. What matters is whether you’re getting the right ones. What works for one compliance professional may be irrelevant for another.
That’s something we’ve seen repeatedly as we’ve developed the Periscope Library and talked to the people using it. Regulators are generally very good at telling you when they’ve published something new. You can subscribe to their alerts, check their websites and add any number of industry newsletters and other sources.
However, someone still has to decide what’s relevant.
Someone working in payments doesn’t need the same information as someone working in insurance. A compliance professional focused on financial crime will have different priorities from someone responsible for consumer protection. Many people also need to keep track of developments across several regulators and jurisdictions.
Your regulatory world isn’t the same as everybody else’s.
This isn’t simply about saving time. The more closely regulatory information reflects your actual responsibilities, the better placed you are to identify important developments and make better judgements about what deserves your attention.
Bringing your regulatory world together
We’ve added a new feature called ‘Regulatory Updates’ to the Periscope Library. The idea is straightforward. Follow multiple regulators in one place, then filter what they publish according to your sector and the topics that matter to you.
Instead of receiving everything from each regulator and doing all the filtering yourself, you can create a much more focused view of regulatory developments around your own responsibilities. Regulatory Updates currently brings together nearly 9,000 publications dating back to 2023 from 29 regulators across 20 jurisdictions. These can be filtered across 19 sectors and 40 topics.
You can view your updates in the Periscope Library or choose to receive them by email, daily or weekly.
Shaped by the people using it
There’s a reason the current list of regulators looks the way it does. We’ve started with the regulators our Library users have asked us to follow. The coverage therefore reflects the markets in which they actually operate, rather than simply being a list of the world’s largest regulators.
If there’s a regulator you’d find useful that isn’t currently included, please tell us. Coverage depends on the regulatory data available to us, so we can’t promise every regulator can be added but we’ll always look at what’s possible.
The aim isn’t to give compliance professionals more regulatory information. It’s to help you get more precisely to the information that matters.
